Moyu Aolong V2

This is the 57 mm version of the Aolong it’s a very nice speed cube and it’s between the $12 and $15 dollars

It corner-cuts more than 45 degrees and the inverse corner cutting is about two-thirds of a cubie, It is very fast and depending on your style it can become uncontrollable, right now I don’t have loose tensions and it’s not so lubricated.

Right out of the box, it has regular tensions and isn’t pre-lubricated. By the way, it has a scratchy and crispy feeling and blocks doesn’t happen too much. I haven’t had any pops with this cube, and I have only experienced a couple of corner twisting with this tensions (with a pair of weeks using it).

As you probably know, one of the main reason Moyu made this cube is because the version 1 had very serious problems with corner twisting, this impacted so much when Feliks Zemdegs beat the world record of a single 3x3x3 solve, but unfortunately it was a DNF because at the last moment he involuntary twisted one corner, that time he got a 5.33 seconds solve. So then, Moyu took out this strengthened version 2 of the Aolong.

The color scheme is pretty good; it’s the same scheme that Moyu uses with almost all of its cubes. I personally really like them, they are attractive but for some people they may appear to irritating, the stock stickers have some imperfections, as you can see in a photo bellow, they have some little bubbles. But the stickers are not what really matters on a cube, by the other way, its performance is what we have to evaluate, it’s an excellent cube for speed-solving but it can be too fast for the style of some cubers. I evaluate this with 8.7 out of 10. I recommend you to buy it and to break it in so then you can comment here your final thoughts about the Aolong, I think that it’s on the Top 5 speedcubes around the world. How to lubricate a 3x3x3 cube?

Hello everyone!

If you are interested in obtaining a faster and smoother cube you need to lubricate it only if you want to get a time under 10 second.

As you may know, being able to solve a 3x3x3 cube is very cool, but always it gets hard to move like the Rubik's brand cube. A great solution is to lubricate it with silicon oil and if you do that you will get a very smooth cube and you'll have more control of it.

Another important thing that you need to know is about speed, in few words, speed does not only depends on having fast fingers and brain power. You need to have a very good cube if you want to obtain times under 10 second even under 6 seconds like Feliks Zemdegs and Matts Valk (he has the world single record in 3x3x3).

One of the purposes of this section is show  you how to keep your cube turning at high speed.

Remember, you should buy a lube like Lubix or Maru even others. You can buy those lubes in Amazon.com, and in there you will see a variety of prices and brands, some of them are very cheap and others so expensive.
If you want my opinion I recommend you the Lubix, because it has more duration. However this lube is the most expensive , that is the only disadvantage that the Lubix has.

Dayan V Zhanchi

Hello everyone!

Today I will show you the best speed cube in the world. The name of this speed cube is "Dayan V Zhanchi", however some people prefer the Aolong but in my point of view the Zhanchi is better.

Fist of all, The Dayan Zhanchi is the fifth speed cube in the Dayan Series and one characteristict that make the cube unique is its speed and the corner cutting, both are excellent.

As you may know, the Dayan Zhanchi was designed to never pop, even thought if you modificate the cube can make pop sometimes. One important thing that makes the cube faster are the tensions, because you can adjust them when you want and that provoke that the cube can become very smooth.


One suggestion that I recommend you is lubricate the cube with lubix and you will obtain a wonderful cube.

The actual record of the 3x3x3 cube was performed by Mats Valk with a Dayan Zhanchi, so this demonstrates that the cube is the best of the world.

Another thing that the Zhanchi has is an excellent corners cut, this is very useful when you solve a cube. If you lubricate your Dayan Zhanchi, you can corner cut around 45 degrees especially in the up, but in most of the cases the cube can get a corner cut of 25 degrees.

In another way the cube has a hight speed, actually if you solve the cube with the beginner method you can get times under 45 seconds and with the advance method under than 10 second. However you need to practice your finger tricks if you want to be a speed cuber.

Shengshou Aurora

Hi everyone!

If you are interesting in speed cubes, you must buy this cube "Shengshou Aurora".

This cube is actually one of the faster cube in the world, however the main feature of this cube is the smooth.

In the other hand, shengshou aurora was created to offer must control of the cube and with that you can manipulated very well, even though the cube lost a little bit of speed.

The curner cut is good but there still others speed cubes that has better corner cut, even though you will not have problems with the pop, because another feature of this fantastic cube is that the cube has a very good design expecially in the pieces, so this provoke that the cube never make pop. However if you forces the cube is probably that in some times the cube may pop, but this is just extreme cases.

Mirror Cube

Mirror Cube

The mirror cube, in my opinion, is one of the greatest 3x3x3 modifications. It’s a cube that should be in every collection out there. Actually, it’s my favorite modification and I can describe it with one word: AWESOME!

If you don’t understand what is a modification: A modification is a puzzle which you can solve the same way as another puzzle and their mechanisms are very similar, except for the external components (corners, edges pieces, etc) which can be made different, therefore, a completely new puzzle is generated. For example, we take a 3x3x3 cube, we sand the pieces until a new puzzle is generated or we just put (to a normal cube) stickers with pictures instead of colors. The mirror cube is a 3x3x3 modification because it has 26 pieces, you can solve it exactly the same way as a 3x3 but, instead of color we have shapes!

I’m going to talk about the ShengShou version of the mirror cube (or mirror blocks). Like every Shengshou puzzle, it’s very cheap ($3-$4) and has a great quality. It does corner cuts but we don’t need that too much. It comes pre-lubricated and out of the box it goes pretty fast. By the way, the stickers have a great quality and look so nice.

My experience.

When I first saw this cube in a YouTube video I thought it was so hard to solve and that I wouldn’t buy it. After that, I discovered that it wasn’t so hard and that it was pretty cheap, so I decided to buy it. I bought it on amazon.com and when it arrived I solved it at the next day. It’s one of my favorite puzzles, I haven’t had any problems with it, and if somebody who really don’t know about cubes see it, he (or she) well get impressed about the shape-shifting. Step 7

This is the final step, and you have the corners in their position, but their orientation is not the correct. Let's finish this cube!

NOTE: In this step, there are 4 cases, but the first one has 3 possible variants, 1a, 1b and 1c. These variants change just in one movement (this movement is in the red square), and then, just continue with the movements below the red square.

If you have more than 2 corners without orientation, just apply one of these previous sub-cases, and then repeat case 1
